What is a Funeral Celebrant?
A Funeral Celebrant is trained and certified to provide a personalized funeral, memorial or celebration to reflect the personality, lifestyle and beliefs of the person who died. Participation by family and friends is encouraged to help create a meaningful parting ceremony.The Celebrant meets with family members for a time of sharing stories of their loved one’s life, and then writes and facilitates the ceremony.
Who Does a Funeral Celebrant Serve?
A Celebrant works with families to create a meaningful funeral service for those who wish to celebrate the life of their loved-one with either a contemporary service or traditional religious funeral rite. Services also include working with terminally-ill patients who wish to prepare their own funeral service and ensuring that each ceremony is a personalized reflection of their life.
